Our GR20 adventure began in Calenzana, where we stayed at the highly recommended Hotel Bell Horizon. We started our hike at 7:30 am, enjoying perfect weather as we ascended through lush beech forests. The trail led us to a challenging climb up to 1,250 meters before we reached the Refuge d'Ortu di U Piobbu by 3:30 pm. Despite basic amenities, the refuge was a welcome respite after a demanding day. The evening concluded with a simple but satisfying dinner, preparing us for the rugged days ahead on the GR20.
